Vineyard Hills
Vineyard Hills is one of the most beloved compositions in Lucien Aubry's Voyage Modernism. Rolling hills of vines sweep across the canvas in rhythmic geometric rows of green and gold, a terracotta-roofed villa with slender cypresses crowns the ridge, and a pale road winds up toward it beneath a large warm sun. Aubry uses no outlines — only crisp interlocking planes of colour and a fine paper grain that gives the image the glow of a vintage poster. The patterned fields lend the scene a satisfying, almost musical order. Warm, pastoral and impeccably balanced, it is the timeless calm of wine country distilled into flat design.
An original oil painting on canvas by Lucien Aubry, painted to order — never a reproduction. Vintage flat-vector travel posters — the world's great cities and coasts in bold geometric colour, glowing suns and warm mid-century palettes with a soft paper grain.
