Pacific Shore closes Lucien Aubry's travel suite on a breezy, sunlit note. A resort town of flat-vector palms, deco hotels and a slender pier nestles on green hills above a blue surf beach, surfers ride the waves and sailboats dot the bay, all beneath a giant coral sun setting into the ocean. Aubry works in his signature outline-free planes — jade, coral, cream and blue — with a fine paper grain that lends the warmth of a mid-century poster. Relaxed, optimistic and effortlessly stylish, it captures the easy glamour of a Pacific coast at sundown, a fitting finale to the Voyage Modernism series.
