Metropolis Sun

Metropolis Sun is the boldest cityscape in Lucien Aubry's series. A dense skyline of flat-vector skyscrapers in terracotta, cream and slate crowds the canvas, a tall central tower spearing upward, with elevated highways and a busy harbour below. Framing it all is an enormous glowing orange sun at dusk — the warm disc that anchors the whole Voyage Modernism series here at its most dramatic. Aubry uses no outlines, only interlocking planes of colour and a fine paper grain that gives the image the texture of a vintage poster. Energetic, warm and graphically striking, it turns the modern metropolis into a serene celebration of light and structure.
