Crimson Tide
Crimson Tide is Silas Crowe at his most elemental and overwhelming. Towering waves of blood-red marbled liquid crash against jagged black cliffs crowned with twisted dead trees, skulls tumbling in the churning surf while an eerie pale sun glows behind a vast swirling Van-Gogh sky. Crowe paints the sea with thick, violent oil strokes that seem to surge off the canvas, the whole composition caught in furious motion. The result is sublime in the oldest sense — beauty and terror fused in the face of nature's indifference.
