Orbit
Orbit is among the most hypnotic works in Juno Pike's Chromatic Pop. Concentric ring-targets and orbiting circles in lime, orange and turquoise wheel across a deep cobalt-and-purple ground, every shape outlined in bold black. Pike arranges the discs so they seem to revolve, larger forms anchoring smaller ones in a slow planetary dance. The flat saturated colour and crisp edges give the cosmic motion a clean, graphic punch. Bold, rhythmic and quietly mesmerising, it turns the simplest of shapes — the circle and the ring — into a meditation on motion and balance, a pop-art solar system spinning in vivid colour.
