Carnival

Carnival is the work that introduces Juno Pike's Chromatic Pop. Big overlapping circles and concentric ring-targets in lime green, bright orange and cobalt jostle across a patchwork of purple and blue squares, a polka-dot panel adding a syncopated beat. Pike outlines every shape in thick confident black, the flat saturated colour ringing out like a fairground at night. There is no perspective and no subject — only pure shape, colour and rhythm — yet the composition feels alive with movement and joy.
