Neon Horizon
Neon Horizon distils the entire grammar of synthwave into a single, arresting image. A banded sun — its horizontal stripes a direct quotation of early-1980s arcade graphics — descends toward a luminous cyan grid that races to a vanishing point, while the sky bleeds from imperial purple through magenta to electric teal. Nova Reyes treats nostalgia not as kitsch but as material, building depth through layered glow, fine scanlines and the faint chrome haze of a cathode screen. The result is at once euphoric and melancholic: a sunset for a future that never quite arrived, rendered with the discipline of a hard-edge painter. Hung as a statement piece, it floods a room with that particular violet-pink light — equal parts memory and machine.
An original oil painting on canvas by Nova Reyes, painted to order — never a reproduction. Retro-futurist vaporwave — neon gradients, perspective grids, chrome and synthwave sunsets in electric magenta, cyan and purple.
