Forest Stag

Forest Stag is the most mysterious nocturne in Marisol Vey's series. A noble stag stands among moonlit trees, its body built from warm umber and amber tesserae that glow against the cold dark, its grand antlers and the surrounding trunks drawn in the dark sinuous leaded lines that are Vey's signature. Behind, the night is a deep mosaic of sapphire, emerald and silver squares, the moon a pale disc of cream glass. The contrast of warm animal and cool wood gives the scene a charged, watchful stillness. Majestic and quietly sacred, it carries the hush of the deep forest at midnight, rendered entirely in jewelled relief.
