Composition in Arches

Composition in Arches reaches back to mid-century rigour and carries it forward. Avery stacks arches, circles and rectangles into a calm geometric architecture in warm neutral tones — sand, charcoal, terracotta, olive — and threads the whole with fine gold lines that draw the eye through the structure. The vocabulary recalls Art Deco and the geometric abstraction of the modernist decades, but the muted, earthy palette feels entirely contemporary, more design gallery than period piece. Balanced and quietly sophisticated, it rewards slow looking as the relationships between the shapes reveal themselves. Architectural, warm and impeccably composed, it brings considered, grown-up order to a wall — geometry with both discipline and soul.

An original oil painting on canvas by Sloane Avery, painted to order — never a reproduction. Clean modern abstraction — crisp colour fields, soft gradients and a balance of hard-edge geometry and organic form in confident contemporary palettes.
