Carnival
Carnival is the exuberant heart of Avery's series. Bold organic shapes — curved blobs, ribbons, half-moons and dots — dance across a clean off-white ground in confident, saturated colour, no single hue allowed to dominate. The vocabulary recalls the late cut-outs of Matisse and the playful biomorphism of mid-century abstraction, but the energy is wholly contemporary: optimistic, rhythmic and carefully orchestrated so the joy never tips into chaos. Generous white space lets each form breathe. Lively, celebratory and impossible to dislike, it is a painting that visibly lifts a room. It proves that contemporary abstraction can be intelligent and pure fun in the very same breath.
An original oil painting on canvas by Sloane Avery, painted to order — never a reproduction. Clean modern abstraction — crisp colour fields, soft gradients and a balance of hard-edge geometry and organic form in confident contemporary palettes.
