Arcade Dusk
Arcade Dusk dissolves the city into pure light. Reyes throws the entire scene out of focus, reducing neon signage to floating discs and bars of magenta, cyan, lime and orange, their reflections pooling on a wet floor below. By withholding every legible letter, he strips the arcade of information and leaves only its sensation — the buzz, the glow, the overstimulated hush of a passage at nightfall. The work sits closest to abstraction in the series, a colour-field built from bokeh rather than brushwork. It trades icon for atmosphere and nostalgia for mood: the memory of a place rather than its likeness. Immersive and warm, it treats light itself as the medium.
