The Vineyard at Sundown
An autumn vineyard ablaze in scarlet and ochre, rows of vines heavy with ripe red grapes glowing under an October sunset. Two harvesters with wicker baskets bend at work in the central rows. Two tall cypresses anchor the right horizon, distant violet mountains and the setting sun closing the sky in fiery orange and crimson.
An original oil painting on canvas by Edwin Hartley, painted to order — never a reproduction. Thick impasto landscapes — wheat fields, cypresses and swirling night skies worked in cobalt, violet and chrome yellow.
