Mirror Lake
Mirror Lake is among the most poetic works in Soren Aalto's Gilded Strata. A still mountain lake reflects layered blue peaks in perfect symmetry, every thin gold seam doubling in the glassy water, while a luminous moon and scattered golden stars glow both above and below. Aalto's flattened paper-cut layering and mirror composition lend the scene a meditative calm, the gold accents shimmering twice over.
