Prismatic Glow

In “Prismatic Glow”, Cassia Vort captures a solitary streetlamp casting a rainbow of pixelated shadows across a rain‑slicked pavement, turning an ordinary urban fixture into a beacon of chromatic wonder. The lamp, rendered in a muted steel tone, emits a luminous column that fractures into bands of colour—ruby, teal, amber—each pixelated strip outlined in crisp black, reminiscent of early video‑game graphics. The rain‑soaked pavement reflects these distorted neon reflections, creating a mirrored surface that doubles the visual impact. Vort’s palette, saturated yet balanced, draws on Pop Art’s love of bright, flat colours and bold outlines, while the pixelated light trails suggest a digital reinterpretation of natural phenomena. The composition juxtaposes the permanence of the streetlamp’s ironwork with the fleeting, almost glitch‑like quality of the pixelated illumination, commenting on the transitory nature of modern visual culture. By rendering rain, light and shadow in a stylised, graphic manner, Vort invites viewers to contemplate the intersection of urban infrastructure, weather, and the ever‑present glow of digital media in contemporary city life.

An original oil painting on canvas by Cassia Vort, painted to order — never a reproduction. Cassia Vort reimagines Pop Art through a luminous neon‑pastel hybrid, blending classic screen‑print crispness with hand‑painted glitch textures. The work feels both retro and futuristic, inviting collectors to experience familiar icons through a vivid, electro‑gloss finish.
