Koi Light Beacon

Koi Light Beacon

Perched on a rugged coastal cliff, a lighthouse sends its beacon skyward, but instead of a simple sweep of light, the beam unfolds into a cascade of golden koi that glide through the night air as if swimming in an invisible river. The koi, rendered in molten amber, flicker and turn, their bodies catching the moon’s pale light and reflecting it back as a shimmering aureate trail. The sea below, dark and restless, is briefly illuminated by the koi’s passage, creating fleeting reflections that dance upon the water’s surface. This transformation of light into living form creates a liminal space where the mechanical reliability of the lighthouse merges with the mythic fluidity of aquatic life, each koi a symbol of hope and renewal. The golden hue envelops the scene in a warm, otherworldly glow, suggesting a threshold between the steadfastness of navigation and the ever‑changing currents of imagination.

An original oil painting on canvas by Celia Vireaux, painted to order — never a reproduction. A movement that explores the threshold between material and metaphysical light, merging alchemical gold tones with liminal spaces and delicate translucency.
