Eternal Waltz in Gilded Light
Within a vaulted ballroom, the moment of a waltz is caught in perpetual suspension. Dancers, suspended mid‑step, glide through air that shimmers with threads of liquid gold woven into their gowns. The ceiling above, a tapestry of stained glass, refracts the golden light into a kaleidoscope of colour, bathing the scene in a warm, ethereal glow. Each figure, poised yet weightless, occupies a space where movement is both arrested and implied, suggesting a threshold between performance and stillness. The gilded fabrics catch and amplify the amber radiance, turning the dancers into living constellations whose bodies trace silent arcs across an unseen sky. This auric liminality creates a dialogue between tradition and transcendence, where the ceremonial grandeur of a royal ballroom is transformed into a timeless tableau of light and form. The suspension invites the viewer to contemplate the fleeting nature of elegance, the golden thread that binds moment to memory, and the subtle tension between the material opulence of the setting and the intangible grace of the dance.
An original oil painting on canvas by Celia Vireaux, painted to order — never a reproduction. A movement that explores the threshold between material and metaphysical light, merging alchemical gold tones with liminal spaces and delicate translucency.
