Urban Prism
"Urban Prism" thrusts the viewer into a futuristic metropolis sculpted from cobalt‑blue glass, where every street, façade, and tower refracts a perpetual twilight into a spectrum of neon ribbons. Vire’s cityscape is a labyrinth of angular structures, each pane of glass acting as a micro‑prism that splits ambient light into luminous bands of magenta, cyan, and emerald. The architecture, though austere in its geometric rigor, pulsates with the rhythm of chrono‑phenomena: the neon ribbons shift in synchronicity with an unseen temporal current, suggesting a city that lives in constant, measured flux. Vire employs a cool, metallic palette, punctuated by the occasional warm glow of street lamps that hint at human presence within the otherwise crystalline environment. Figures, rendered as silhouettes, traverse the reflective avenues, their movements echoing the city’s own harmonic oscillations. The skyline, dominated by towering spires, seems to rise and fall like a tide, each crest catching the twilight and sending it cascading downwards. In this work, Vire explores the symbiosis of urban development and temporal flow, positing that the future may be built upon the very act of refracting and reshaping time itself.
An original oil painting on canvas by Elowen Vire, painted to order — never a reproduction. A speculative visual language that fuses temporal distortion with hyper‑real materiality, exploring the way moments fracture and recombine under shifting light.
