Amber Canyon
Amber Canyon turns the desert into pure geometry. Iris Hollis stacks rolling dunes and flat mesa layers into overlapping planes of warm ochre and terracotta, beneath a smooth teal-to-amber gradient sky, with a single slender desert shrub anchoring the foreground. The flat-vector treatment — bold unbroken colour blocks, overlapping silhouettes for depth, crisp edges — gives the canyon a calm, graphic grandeur, the golden-hour light flattened into clean bands of warmth. Hollis works in the serene editorial idiom of contemporary vector landscape, where the drama of a canyon is held in restraint rather than detail. The generous negative space lets the composition breathe; nothing is hurried. Warm, tranquil and quietly expansive, it captures the hush of the desert at golden hour without a single grain of literal texture. It is the canyon reduced to its essential colour and form — a meditation on warmth, layering and light, rendered with clean modern poise.
An original oil painting on canvas by Iris Hollis, painted to order — never a reproduction. Calm flat-vector landscapes — bold geometric colour planes, gradient skies and generous negative space in a serene, editorial mood.
