Late‑Night Treats
“Late‑Night Treats” depicts a midnight vending machine that dispenses glowing neon cupcakes, each crowned with a tiny LED spark. The machine’s sleek, black façade is punctuated by the soft hum of circuitry, while the cupcakes themselves radiate a spectrum of electric blues, purples and pinks that cut through the darkness. Vex’s composition places the vending unit in a dimly lit corridor, allowing the neon treats to become points of visual focus, their light reflected on nearby metallic surfaces. The choice of colour—vivid cyan, magenta and amber—evokes the playful excess of Chromatic Pop, where everyday objects are re‑imagined through saturated palettes. The LED spark atop each cupcake adds a kinetic element, suggesting a fleeting moment of illumination before the treat is consumed. Vex’s rendering balances crisp digital detail with a soft glow, creating a tactile sense of the cool plastic and warm light. The piece remains observational, inviting viewers to contemplate the intersection of consumer culture, technology and the seductive allure of colour‑driven desire.
An original oil painting on canvas by Liora Vex, painted to order — never a reproduction. Liora Vex reimagines Chromatic Pop through a luminous holographic technique that fuses traditional acrylic with reflective foil and subtle digital glitch textures, creating a kinetic visual energy that feels both tactile and otherworldly.
