The Mandolin Player
A slightly-angled frontal view of a Nice-period Mediterranean interior with a young woman seated playing a caramel-brown Neapolitan mandolin (central black soundhole, white frets). The woman: front-facing slightly turned right, copper-auburn hair loose on shoulders, oval stylised face in pale peach, olive-green eyes closed listening to her own music, soft pink lips, thin black brows. She wears a mimosa-yellow blouse with small black dots and red embroidered neckline, long emerald-green skirt with large stylised black leaves. Seated on a low round lavender-purple stool padded with white geometric motifs.
An original oil painting on canvas by Theodore Lang, painted to order — never a reproduction. Fauvist interiors and still lifes — open windows, goldfish and joyful flat colour.
