The Mandolin Player

Anton Reijn · No. 19

The Mandolin Player

A seated woman holding a classic mandolin across her lap, her hands playing the strings. Body and instrument fractured into bold geometric planes. Head turned in three-quarter profile, simplified into faceted angles — half face warm-toned, half cool. Hair as dark slabs pulled back.

An original oil painting on canvas by Anton Reijn, painted to order — never a reproduction. Cubist still lifes and figures built from fractured planes in ochre, slate and umber.
