Crowned
Crowned channels the raw, electric lineage of Neo-Expressionist street painting. A frontal figure with a scribbled, urgent head is topped by a bold three-point crown and surrounded by a storm of marks, arrows and drips in primary colour. The crown — long a symbol of self-coronation and defiant worth in graffiti culture — turns the anonymous street figure into a king. Kade keeps the handling deliberately unfinished, all nervous line and spray, so the image vibrates with restless energy. It is primal and immediate, a portrait of dignity claimed rather than granted. Bold and uncompromising, it brings the voltage of the wall, and its hard-won pride, onto the canvas.
An original oil painting on canvas by Marcus Kade, painted to order — never a reproduction. Urban street art — spray paint, stencil and oilstick over concrete-textured canvas, with drips, overspray and raw graphic energy.
