Metropolitan Deluge

In this piece the collapsed façades of skyscrapers are suggested by jagged, fragmented planes of muted grey and rust, their outlines blurred by a heavy, gestural application of ink. Towering waves of inky black paint surge across the composition, their fluid motion rendered with sweeping, calligraphic strokes that evoke a flood of memory washing over the urban landscape. The artist’s technique creates a palpable sense of weight; the ink appears to cling to the broken surfaces, as if recollection itself is a viscous tide that engulfs the remnants of modern ambition. Sparse highlights of white and occasional splashes of muted ochre hint at broken windows and shattered glass, offering fleeting moments of clarity amid the darkness. By abstracting the scene, Solstice transforms a literal disaster into a metaphor for the erosion of collective identity, the way history dissolves into the present. The composition’s rhythm—alternating between the harsh geometry of structural ruins and the organic flow of ink—produces a visual tension that holds the viewer’s gaze, urging contemplation of the fragile permanence of civilization.

An original oil painting on canvas by Liora Vex, painted to order — never a reproduction. Liora Vex melds the raw gestural vigor of Abstract Expressionism with a luminous, molten‑pigment technique that creates glowing, fluid ribbons of color that appear to be caught mid‑drip. Her palette leans toward saturated citrine, deep indigo, and phosphorescent teal, giving each canvas an inner light that shifts with the viewer’s angle.
